(Ongoing discussion I've been having with my Sister - my text regular, hers italics. in numbered order - discussion is 1st paragraph my opening, 2nd her response, 3rd my follow up. Please add your thoughts. START MESSAGE I cant believe Im saying this. I wasnt a huge fan of Ep. VII... And that makes me sad. Why. Repetition of themes: I really wanted to see something new, something different, something that required a little more thought. Instead we got “Death Star III: This time we built it into a planet. ” I mean, cmon, there was even a “trench run” shot ala Ep. IV. It felt like a cop-out. And the scenes in the control room at the Resistance base... Death Star I anyone? Hoth? … “the weapon will be online in 30 seconds…”... ohh Cmon. There were reused ideas from the original trilogy, however if you are going to hate every movie that reuses ideas, then you are going to hate every movie ever. The themes were reused, but to appease the people who complained that they prequels weren't enough like the original trilogy. And they were taken verbatim from the OT, the idea was reused, but with a new spin (i. e the Starkiller weapon could destroy multiple systems at once, and required a sun to power it. I was just really miffed that they recycled to that degree – like, I get it – even the Thrawn trilogy and such revisited those themes; but with the entire weight of Disney behind it I really thought theyd try something different. 2) Story Arch: Such a small scale all-told in Ep. so much more could have been setup. Sure, I get it, Ep. VIII and IX are going to be more about the Jedi / growth of Kylo Ren whathaveyou... but... I'm an idiot, this is a GALAXY far far away... a whole God Damned universe! Think bigger! Star Wars has never been a story that includes details about the entire galaxy; that would be impossible to put into one movie. Arguably the same amount of the galaxy was seen covered in TFA as was in ANH. The story of Star Wars only ever follows the main characters; if you want more "whats going on in the rest of the galaxy. see Episode 1 with the senate debates. But I feel like this is a major plothole... 1, 2, 3 are all about the fall of the Old Republic and the rise of the Empire… 4, 5, 6 about the fledgling Rebellion and their victories over the same... then 7... and, nothing. No mention of the post-Empire reconstitution of galactic governance, heck was there even one mention of the “New Republic” or anything akin to it? Thats what I mean by lack of scale – it was a character story, and only a character story (and I get it, theyre setting up the next ones. 3) Villain: Kylo Ren pissed me off. One, for there being no backstory to him or why he does what he does beyond “he had a falling out with Luke Skywalker. ” Hes juvenile, and the lightsaber tantrums … Jesus it was like Ep. II and III Anakin only with more inflection in his voice. Anyone who was a fan of the expanded universe growing up – I was hoping for a more brooding, calculating evil in Ep. VII; something akin to Grand Admiral Thrawn. Also, they should have just kept his mask on… He was a petulant child. Not Palpatine / Vader quality of evil. Snot nosed kid that someone should have smacked upside the head. And the voice … really people, were over the whole “talk through a coffee filter” / Christian Bale Batman thing… Kylo Ren had the same backstory as Vader in ANH, if not more. We only knew that Vader was a pupil of Obi-Wan and turned to the dark side; no reason why he turned, or who he was before that. With Kylo, we learn that he is the son of Han and Leia, and grandson to Vader. He is untrained in the dark side and not fully turned and his internal conflict shows through he outbursts. Vader shows the same type of outburst, force choking anyone who pisses him off, but they are more in control. His mask was to hide the fact that he was/is a child, and anyone who talks through a mask will have a muffled/distorted voice. Seeing it now for a third time he is a child, I think that is very much the point they are trying to make. He has very little control over himself and seems to be less in control as the movie goes on. Something Snoke seems to pick up on as well. Id argue the “untrained” piece – he shows a great deal more ability at force manipulation than almost any other (movie) character to this point aside from Palpatine. Hes definitely in control when he wants to be. And my guess for the “falling out” with Luke Skywalker storyline will be something along the lines of being impatient with the pace of his training (much like Luke in ESB. Hes that prodigy that picks up everything realllly quick, and wants to keep devouring knowledge. Hed have to have been significantly trained to have decimated the Jedi Academy and beaten Skywalker (unless were to find later than it was one of those things where it all happened while Luke was away etc. I dug the mask – but really wished hed kept it on, or even better – not removed it until the conflict with Han on the bridge-thing (which, btw – who the hell puts a bridge over nothingness and doesnt have handrails on it. THAT to me would have been so much more impactful; to reveal “ohh my God... hes just a child…” right before he goes shish-ka-bob on daddy. My “villain” complaints in TFA will be TOTALLY absolved if the next few films develop / mature him as a baddie – then it will be perfect that we watch the child become an adult… (P. S. – have you seen / read the “Kylo is a Jedi and undercover with the Dark Side! ” fan stuff? I think its absurd, but ‘eh – I like reading that stuff. 4) Han and Chewie: God damnit, you took the galaxys most cock-sure smuggler and turned him into a slapstick sideshow... “ohh, I like this! ” Seriously, after 40+ years together Chewies never let you fire his Bowcaster, but all the sudden hell just pass it off to you like nothing else? And Hans death … just... idk; underwhelming. Han and Chewy's personalities did change, but thats to be expected after 30 years and Han changing from a smuggler to a military general. Sure they were silly and the bowcaster thing didn't necessarily make sense, but its a movie. Also Hans death may have been underwhelming for you but it has made 100s of grown men cry (or at least tear up. Could there have been more wow factor, sure, but in terms of “I am fighting with my inner demons and I feel I need to kill my dad” I think it was done well. Though I am a little confused about who the hell doesnt put railings on these I'm an idiot bridges. And back to smuggler again … this is one of my issues – theres sooooo much that happened in that time between ROTJ and TFA – and so much that appears not to have happened. With the whole “wheres the Republic? Thing. The bowcaster thing makes more sense now that Ive read some fan theory stuff – it was setup like that with Han making the whole “this thing IS powerful” comments to make it more apparent that Kylo was REALLLY hurting when he fought Finn / Rey. So, ok – sure Ill concede that a bit as a bit of foreshadowing, but still dont like it. Hans death was pivotal for me. AS soon as the scene set up with him walking out onto the bridge, Chewie watching from the side, and Ren and Finn on the balcony I started audibly saying “no no no no no” and had to literally cover my mouth... both my hands went to my head when it happened, and I too was moved (not to tears…) by his death. My complaint about the scene is just that its underwhelming, and again with the whole repeated themes thing (Maul dies, falls in pit… Mace Windu... tossed out window … Luke, falls into void at Bespin... Papatine, dooooooown the Death Star II reactor shaft. … cmon, where the hell is OSHA when they build this crap. I think its more than the need to kill his Dad … its the thing that Luke couldnt do … kill his father to complete his transformation to the Dark Side... That Anakin failed to do (not killing Obi Wan. I am laying great faith in Disney to bring back Kylo as the Badass of badasses – no other evil to this point has gone as FAR down the Dark Path as he… 5) On-screen Chemistry: In their own rights, Finn and Rey are going to be great characters; together though, I just wasnt feeling it. Sure, the acting from the original cast was a little flat – but after the crap from Ep. II and III between Anakin / Padme, youd think theyd focus on getting two people together that really had some chemistry. Given where they come from, Finn being someone who was brain washed as a child into being a Stormtrooper who then defected from the First Order, and Rey a bored girl who is stuck on a desert planet, I think their chemistry works. Neither of them really had any friends or knew how to interact with a friend. Lets take two children between 3 and 6 and cut them off from all of the comforts of a normal life or at least a family, leave them to fend for themselves for 15-20 years and see just how weird they are. The characters are great – both Rey and Finn. My complaint is their on screen chemistry – it just felt scripted and forced (not so much as the “I hate sand, it gets everywhere” or “youre going down a path I cannot follow! ” from Anakin / Padme lack of chemistry; but definitely not the playful flirting we saw with Han / Leia. 6) Lightsaber battles – Better than Ep. I, II, and III by far – Im so sick of that choreography BS. Jumps, twists and whatnot. I liked that these were more hurried, desperate duels – almost like “just go over there and whack on each other for a while. ” (Final Luke v. Vader saber duel in VI was by FAR the best. Still, Kylo should have wiped the floor with Finn at least... especially given the demonstration of his powers earlier in the film. In Kylo's duel with Finn he was significantly injured (we saw Chewy's Bowcaster create some pretty large explosions) and he was also dealing with having just murdered his father; to say he wasn't focused is an understatement. It is also reasonable to assume that all Stormtroopers were trained in hand-to-hand combat, allowing Finn to have a slight level of proficiency (keep in mind he also couldn't beat a Stormtrooper in a fight. When Kylo fights Rey, he is sill injured and unfocused, but on top of that he is now confused as to why Rey was able to grab Luke's saber and not him, causing him to be confused and even less focused. Should he have won handsomely, yes, but there are reasons why he didn't. I think killing Han was supposed to solidify Kylos transition to the dark side and when he died Kylo still feels the call to the light or at least doesnt feel as close to the dark side as he expected. This coupled with his failure to grab the saber built by his idol and the pain of his injuries I think all adds up to not being on his game. I agree with the significant injury part. I scoff at the “Stormtroopers trained in hand to hand” piece though. lightsaber battles and duels b/t Jedi / Sith are much more than just whacking on each other – explained REALLY well in the Darth Bane story (wiki link is most concise summary I could find) but basically one of the first things a Jedi does when fighting someone force attuned is throw up a defensive barrier – so mind trick and what have you dont work on them yadayada. Ren is FULL of rage, hate, anger, pain, suffering at this point … ALL things that work to power the Dark Side – he should be in Dark-Side Beast-Mode. Killing his father... I feel like thats less an internal struggle now that that parts over. I fell his resolve would be strengthened after killing Han … I get that hes confused, disoriented, weakened even... but that still doesnt explain to me why Rey, with no training whatsoever, and only having “tested” her force powers like twenty minutes earlier, is able to so effortlessly do something that Luke, after three-ish years of training, had so much trouble with in the ice cave on Hoth... She better be the white-knight of white-knights Jedi wise (I see an epic Rey v. Ren battle coming in the future. 7) Lukes Lightsaber – Alright … hold the phone... This thing was cut from Lukes hand at the end of Ep. V; and by all accounts plummeted into the depths of the gas giant Bespin. How, all of the sudden, is it some moldy basement, completely unscarred and looking bright and shiny? Dafuq? Did we just, forget that part of the story from Ep. V? It is not too far fetched that Luke's lightsaber made its way to Maz's palace. In the book "Aftermath" there is a chapter about a merchant selling Darth Vader's saber to a mysterious group of people, and we thought that thing blew up on the Deathstar. Luke didn't just fall straight down; he was sucked into one of the ports on the side of the structure. So the saber and hand could have gone into a different one. To then be salvaged sold and passed around until it made its way to Maz. I will be downloading the audiobook for Aftermath tonight … (what else am I going to do with the [I did the math] 34. 5 days I spend in my truck each year just commuting… P. – the new Serial is a topic near and dear to me – its worth a listen. I recommend the Thrawn Trilogy (by Timothy Zahn) and the X-Wing series (by Michael Stackpoole) for some awesome post-BOE Star Wars action. That will give you a better idea of the “galactic” level of plot I thought I was walking into. (Imperial governors struggling for control post-Palpatine... Grand Admirals fighting EACH OTHER Star-Destroyer to Star-Destroyer to be the new “baddie in charge. ” The New Republic struggling to constitute an intergalactic government as the infrastructure the Empire had created crumbles or is sabotaged… Back on task here – I need to hear the “story for another time” now on how Maz came to possess the saber... Im sure there will be a good backstory to it (at least, I hope. 8) The Resistance – why is it only 17-ish X-wings fighting this great battle for the universe? WETF – what happened to the varied types of fighters, mid-size, and capital ships of yore? If the answer is “well, theyre part of the New Republic now, not the Resistance. ” Then where the hell was the New Republic in all of this? Imperials destroying entire star systems and this new intergalactic govt is all “lawl, well just chill over here – you guys figure it out between yourselves. ” From my understanding, The Resistance is essentially the strike force for the Republic. The Republic is non-militant, and still trying to get its feet, so the Resistance was formed to help combat the Imperial Remnant (i. e. The First Order. Where is the Republic? They were blown to bits. Perhaps they were previously unaware of the impact this weapon could have or the time line for finishing it. Should they have maybe spread their fleet out a bit more, yes pick a few planets in different systems next time but they didnt do that. So any fleet the republic did have was destroyed along with the republic. The resistance base is a secret “need to know” base so I imagine they dont have much space and they also only bring the best and most trusted pilots into the fold. This is my point… that “strike force” is what, like 17 X-wings? And THATS all weve decided is needed to combat this new “Starkiller” threat? Where are the support ships? The capital ships? Anything eles? I work in a world of segmented intel, “need to know” and whathaveyou – something like this … all hands would be on deck. I cant believe that the “entire” Republic space presence was at the Hosnian System at the time of its demise (if it was, thats very poor galactic politics, and very poor military planning. There should be multiple fleets (just like there are 13 Grand Admirals of the Imperial Navy – and an estimated production of over 25, 000 Imperial-Class Star Destroyers prior to BOE. I cant imagine that NONE of those former Imperials defected post-Endor. Hell, in the EU, the ImpStar2 is used by both sides – becoming the main ambassadorial ship of the New Republic. There should have been multiple battle groups spread through the galaxy, if doing nothing else than waving the flag and showing a New Republic presence. (I also felt this point in the story was dealt with rather haphazardly – they spent more time building up the firing sequence than showing the destruction and impact etc... and ohh God they missed a golden opportunity... WHY... WHY wasnt Senator Jar-Jar on that platform going “ohhh! Messa see da sky fire lights! Whatsa wesa celebrating ery-budy? ” I would have DIED laughing as Jar Jar got nuked. This is really an issue of scale … the term “fleet” doesnt mean “all the ships. ” Heck, the U. Navy has SIX “fleets” right now. 9) The First Order – Umm … Nazis much? Really, they had no mission, just to “be evil! ” It wasnt to “wrest control of the galaxy back from the New Republic, ” it was “ I'm an idiot I'm an idiot up because we can. ” Damn they pissed me off – at least in the originals, you understood why the Empire acted as it did, there was reason and rationale, not just “were the bad guys, and were bad, so you shouldnt like us. ” I believe the First Order's main goal was to restore the galaxy back to the order that the Empire had (I'm not positive, but I believe I remember General Huxx ( I'm an idiot yeah, ginger's in charge of a fkn Star Destroyer. saying something along the line of that. And heres where I again think they had such a golden opportunity to try a new theme vs. “Death Star – Planet Edition. ” If thats the goal, theyre not looking to nuke the galaxy, but intimidate it back into the Imperial fold. Im sure there are still worlds and galaxies firmly under Imperial control that the Republic hasnt reached yet. There could have been such a different tack here vs. kablooieing the whole kit n caboodle. Political subterfuge, backstabbing, double agents etc. etc. ….

I will keep it short and sweet.
I am a lifelong Star Wars Fan, I have clung to the original trilogy for years and nothing comes close BUT I have to accept a new generation of viewers need a different hook to sink then deep into Lucas Lore.
Rating this film alone, I am the Last Jedi set things back - Yes, was this story rushed in places -Yes!
The nostalgia value is off the charts, the story is good and I am happy with the ending. Does it end the whole saga, not for me on a grand enough level but I felt I was concluded with the Skywalker's after Return of the Jedi so anymore stories have been gratefully added to the Star Wars legacy.

Now, while I have a decent about of content to back this theory up with, it is just a theory and based upon one idea, and how you get it to work. So if I am wrong thats cool, but this really got me thinking. What idea? That Rey is a Skywalker. Woah woah you dismiss this, I know it seems like we have all battled over Reys lineage enough times before; but this is a bit of a new perspective. Lets break this down into two categories: Evidence(canon material and BTS material to support this) Storyline(What this will make the storyline of the sequel trilogy, and final chapter in the Skywalker saga) EVIDENCE This article lays out the information in great detail so I suggest you read it on your own time if you are so inclined. However to sum it up: Leias scenes in TROS need to have some substance to the plot of the film, even if the footage itself is not in great quantity. It has to have depth, not just Leia in the background saying generic things. But what out of her deleted and unseen footage would have that effect? Well there is footage that suggests that Leia was supposed to know who Rey was. This was edited out and caused a lot of reworking of the film. Basically, Reys identity was Lukes lost daughter, Maz knows this, and tells Leia at some point(the exchange between the two characters where Maz gives Leia the lightsaber, which has never seen the light of day. Like I said the article itself goes into great deal about how this effected the film. JJ has said on many occasion that he wrote TROS around Leias scenes. That Leia is at the heart of this movie. How is this possible if the footage used is devoid of content that would effect the film itself and the characters? Even if there isnt a lot of footage of Leia, if she learns Rey is Lukes daughter and passes that information on to her niece, and it goes on to have a huge effect of Reys, that sure sounds like the heart of the film. You know that scene of Rey and Leia hugging while Rey is in tears? That could easily be when Rey learns Leia is her family. In the preview of Reys Age of Resistance comic, I noticed something very interesting. Something that could genuinely be a tease for Reys heritage and even tie back to what the article I linked above talks about at one point. Reys comic takes place before The Last Jedi, when she is about to leave DQar and then the rest follows her and Chewies journey. In the preview Leia talks to Rey, and tells her she is part of something bigger then whoever she thought she was before. Interesting for sure. But whats even more interesting, is when Rey is finally off. There is a very familiar exchange between Poe and Leia. Poe wonders if Rey will be able to find Luke, and Leia believes she will. Poe said shed better because “Luke may be our only hope” to which Leia responds, “No. I is another. ” That ring any bells? Its the exchange between Obi-wan and Yoda in Empire Strikes Back, that hinted at the reveal of another Skywalker. Leia. This scene here could be a very subtle hint toward the reveal of Rey as a Skywalker. Not only that, but in ESB Luke was off to face Vader who at the time he didnt yet know was his father, and if this theory is true, Rey is also off to go face the man she does not yet know is her father. I cant say whether Leia knows for sure in this scene, though I wouldnt be surprised if she always had some sort of feeling. I mean she did with Luke apparently, she just wasnt sure exactly what it was. What is interesting about marketing, is that its done before a film is even finished editing. In the example of TROS, JJ is very much still caught up in the thick of post-production, and we already have a teaser trailer and special look. But right now, Id like to take a look at the marketing for The Force Awakens. Specifically, the second teaser trailer. This teaser has the voice over of Luke from Return of the Jedi, talking about how the Force is strong in his family. Then he says “you have that power too”. Now sure, thats what he says to Leia in ROTJ. But in this context it seems to be directed to be about Rey. It is also the teaser that includes a shot of that never seen before exchange between Maz and Leia, where Maz hands Leia the lightsaber. Very telling. This would have been around a time in the editing process, for which they would have still intended to use that footage and have Reys identity as Lukes daughter be revealed. Now lets scoot over to the Cinematic Journey documentary about TFA for some big speculation. This follows the creation of the film, and one thing that was interesting caught my attention: Daisy bringing up Reys heritage. There seemed to be a lot more to that segment of the interview, but when Daisy says “we hadnt really talked about my family. ”, they cut away. She clearly says a bit more, and in the context of what she was saying regarding JJ, I believe shes talking about when he told her who Reys parents were. Now if Daisy knew Luke was Reys father, watching the film even without those scenes of Leia and Maz, having that context would make the the identity of Reys parents still really obvious. Which I think could very easily explain Daisys comments about Reys parents being obvious. There are many lines and moments in The Force Awakens, that you can brush past, but in the end seem like they are really missing a lot of context. Rey and Leias hug for instance. Because yeah, thats totally normal for strangers to do. But also an interesting few lines by Kylo Ren. He says “what girl? ” as though he knows of some girl already, and hes suspicions of who this person is. If he knew he had a cousin who went missing years ago, a girl showing up now of all times when people are on the search for Luke Skywalker, I would be suspicious too. Another interesting thing is that in both the Lego game, and in the novelization, after Rey draws the lightsaber to herself, Kylo said “It is you. ” Which cements that he has previous knowledge of some girl. Aka his cousin who was lost many years ago. STORYLINE In a previous post, I talked about what the Dies Irae means to Star Wars. More specifically, what it means for the story of episode IX. Because I dont think its a coincidence that the Dies Irae is what plays during the title reveal of The Rise of Skywalker during the teaser. Check out that post if you want a bit more detail then Ill be going into here, though there will be some differences in what I talk about story wise. Most of it holds up, but there are slight variations. TLDR; The Dies Irae in Star Wars, represents the legacy of Anakin Skywalker, and those who take up that legacy. The first time we hear the Dies Irae is in A New Hope when Luke discovers his aunt and uncle dead, and makes the resolve to go with Obi-wan to become a Jedi like his father. The exact same music in that scene, plays when Rey pulls the Skywalker legacy lightsaber out of the snow in The Force Awakens. Excepting her call to action. Which in the context of what is discussed in the article I linked at the beginning, would be her identity. Originally she would have been running away from the knowledge that she is a Skywalker, not just that she had Force powers and for some reason the lightsaber wanted her. Need I remind you that Maz introduces it to Rey as Lukes lightsaber, and his fathers before him, “and now, it calls to you. ” Two following generations, excepting the legacy of Anakin Skywalker. Because as George Lucas(who has been a consultant on Episode IX from the very beginning) always said: the sequel trilogy was about the grandchildren(plural) of Anakin Skywalker. Kira from Georges script, who later became Rey, was Anakins granddaughter. Ben Solo/Kylo Ren has taken on the legacy of Darth Vader, and Rey has taken on the legacy of Anakin Skywalker. The dark and light sides of their grandfather. One of the things JJ cant do, is ignore The Last Jedi. He has to make it make sense as the middle chapter of this trilogy. If I had to pic the most interesting part of that movie, it would be the exploration of the Force. And the clear parallels made to the Mortis Arc in regard to Ach-To, but also Rey and Kylo. An arc which Rian even said he rewatched while making the movie. Kylo represents The Son, Rey represents The Daughter. And as Anakin has been both the light and the dark, he can now finally take his place as The (gran)Father. Which is balance. Plus if we want to get literal, since Shmi conceived him without a father, that makes Anakin the first father of the Skywalker family. But I digress. No, the casual viewer wouldnt need to know about Mortis. After all, they are just archetypes of the Force, in which the ancient Jedi used to explain it. This likely took many forms over many generations, and held different terms. So we might not see these exact terms be used. But there would be the same principle. Some one embodies the dark side, someone the light, and someone else the balance. This could be easily summed up in a few lines, probably something Palpatine says to explain their powers and how it pertains to his plan, and thats all the general audience would need. The fans would understand the greater lore behind it. Through Anakin would balance be achieved, according to the prophecy finally revealed in Master & Apprentice. Which means Anakin is still the Chosen One, but his descendants are meant to help him achieve balance. Like Luke was the catalyst to Vaders turn back to Anakin, his grandchildren are the embodiments of the dark and light side of the Force needed to help him destroy Palpatine once and for all. Thats an example of how some story elements could go. So this would make the sequel trilogy the final step in Anakins destiny to bring balance to the Force. Carrying forward themes of the saga being about a family torn apart by destiny, but brought back together because of love and the bond of family that is not so easily broken. As for the sequel characters: Its about inheriting what has come before, and discovering who they are as individuals, while they struggle to figure out if they are strong enough to carry those burdens. But there is another concept I want to ponder. How would they make Rey Skywalker make sense. The first things that come to mind, are that either Rey was kidnapped, or hidden. In the event she was hidden, it could have been because of some prophecy or feeling or something like that, where it was feared she would be turned to the dark side. So they hid her, but that dark side burden ended up landing on Ben. If she was kidnapped, it could have been somehow involved with her mothers death, and she wound up left on Jakku by someone else. Heck if we are throwing out ideas she could have been guided by Force Ghosts as a kid, like maybe Anakin. That would even further explain her Force skills, if she was unknowingly being trained... CONCLUSION The first part is evidence that could support Rey being a Skywalker in Episode IX, and the second part is mostly theories as to how that might play out. Just to clear a couple things up though: I know this would go against two concepts certain fans like. First, that Rey is a nobody. But in my personal opinion it doesnt ruin that revelation. Rey struggled with her need for external validation, wanting her parents to be someone important or at least for someone important to give her a destiny/purpose. Because of her confrontation with Kylo, she walks away having learned the lesson that her lineage, regardless of what it is, isnt important. She has to choose who she wants to be. Thats up to her. This will just establishes her as more of an individual character, when its revealed she is a Skywalker. Second, the Reylo ship. There are lots of people who ship this and thats fine. But there isnt anything in TFA or TLJ that couldnt be easily explained as a familial bond. I mean the finger touch Force scene literally happened in a Darth Vader comic between Vader and Luke. If they are cousins, their bond makes lots of sense. And is really beautiful and heartbreaking in that familial way. Kylo feels betrayed by everyone in his family, and is lonely and wanting that family connection. Rey wasnt around when Luke and his parents “betrayed” him, so he feels he can have a fresh start with his cousin. But because of his nature, he wanted her to turn. Which would be a reason why he may have potentially lied to her. He wouldnt bring himself to turn because of the guilt he would have to face. Which pushes her away in the end. Though they are cousins, their bond would very much similar to the complicated bond that is a sibling relationship. One that is reoccurring throughout Star Wars. Obi-wan and Anakin shared that bond, Luke and Leia, and even going into Legends with Jacen and Jaina. Family is what Star Wars has always been about, and I do believe that they are capable of building a moving and compelling familiar dynamic between Kylo and Rey. (As for people saying stuff about “sexual tension”, keep in mind that lots of people didnt see it as romantic at all, but and Leia made out. Im open for a lot of origins just so long as they are done well, whether shes a Skywalker, Palpatine, or really a nobody. However this has been a look at why I am on the Rey Skywalker train again, and think it is still has a realistic chance at being true. The classic themes of sacrifice, adoption, love, cameraderie, belief, redemption, hope and bravery were powerfully interwoven with oodles of fan service and a truly operatic touch. At times it was all so powerfully emotional, but never less than a thrill ride too. Everything I wanted was delivered, and more.
JJ did us all proud, especially as I don't believe he was given the easiest material to work with as you look at some aspects of 7 and 8.
I think the haters watched a different movie to me, and / or have forgotten the genre Star Wars inhabits of family-friendly space adventure with quite the dark side. I understand that some flourishes may not be to everybody's taste but to give this wonderful piece of work a 1, 2 or 3 out of 10 is basically trolling and to be ignored (imho. Am I giving a 10 to counter that? Nope; I genuinely couldn't talk at the end from being overwhelmed by the experience (in a good way) and give my rare 10 gladly.

No. Despite the fine performances, the excellent photography and superb production and art designs, I was not impressed by the movie. In fact, my opinion of the film proved to be lower than my feelings about "THE FORCE AWAKENS. And I never thought that would be possible. I had two major problems about the film - the narrative and characterizations written by the director, Rian Johnson. One of the main problems I had with "THE LAST JEDI" proved the length of time between it and "THE FORCE AWAKENS. Judging from the film's opening, the Resistance had fled its base on D'Qar and engaged in that opening battle against the First Order before Rey, Chewbacca and R2-D2 arrived on Ahch-To. Why did Johnson decide to begin the movie with such a small time frame? I have no idea. But thanks to this time frame, I found some of the events in the movie rather questionable. According to the film's opening crawl, the First Order had "decimated" the Republic and took military control of the galaxy. I found this hard to swallow. Yes, the First Order used their Star Killer weapon to destroy the New Republic's capital and a few planets in the same system. But the Republic was spread all over the galaxy. Also, the First Order had suffered two major defeats near the end of "THE FORCE AWAKENS" at Takodana, where it was searching for the BB-8 droid and the map to Luke Skywalker; and the destruction of the Star Killer weapon and its base. The last defeat proved to be a severe one for the First Order. Why would the entire galaxy surrender to the First Order when its super weapon, the Star Killer base and God knows how many troops and personnel were destroyed by the Resistance? I can understand the First Order licking its wounds and eventually conquering the rest of the Republic and going after the Resistance - but not so damn soon. Not within a space of one or two days. The time frame produced another problem. After Snoke had punished General Hux for the Resistance's destruction of the First Order's new starship, the Dreadnought; the general informed his leader that he had used a new tracking device to follow the Resistance fleet through hyperspace. How exactly did this happen? When did Hux find the time - between the First Order's defeat at Takodano, the destruction of the Star Killer's base and the Resistance's abandonment of their D'Qar base - to connect a tracking device to the Resistance convoy? When? I checked the Wookiepedia website on this hyperspace tracker, I discovered that it simply provided nothing more than a vague description. The website also failed to describe how Hux managed to have it planted in the first place. That is when I began to wonder if this tracking device was nothing more than a deus ex machina created by Johnson to keep the First Order on the heels of the Resistance fleet. I have other problems regarding the First Order's pursuit of the Resistance. One, how did the Resistance's bomber fleets managed to drop bombs on the the dreadnought ship. in space. where there is no gravity? Would it have not been more sufficient for them to use the torpedo launchers of their X-wing fighter ships? Once the First Order managed to somewhat catch up with the Resistance fleet, it just basically kept its distance, while taking potshots at various Resistance ships; claiming that their enemy moved too fast for them to sufficiently destroy its convoy. What. Did Hux fail to notice that the Resistance convoy was not particularly moving that fast? And whether the Resistance convoy was moving too fast or not, neither Hux, Snoke or Kylo Ren even bother to consider ordering part of the First Order's fleet to jump into light speed ahead of the Resistance. and box the latter into a trap? Rian Johnson's handling of the Resistance proved to be equally problematic. A conflict has developed among the franchise's fans on who was right - General Leia Organa or Commander Poe Dameron - regarding the bombing of the First Order's dreadnought. Poe's determination to destroy the dreadnought led to the destruction of Resistance's bomber squad. On the other hand, if the dreadnought had continued to exist, who knows what would have hap. You know what? I do not give a shit one way or the other. I do not care. I found other things to complain about this story arc. I understood why Poe Dameron had blatantly ignored Leia's order to retreat at the movie's beginning. I do not understand why Paige Tico and the other bomber pilots did not follow her order. Surely, they had overheard Leia's retreat order over the fleet's communications system. And yet. like Poe, they ignored her order. And then we have Leia's * Mary Poppins" moment, after the bridge of her flagship was destroyed. You know. the scene in which she used the Force to float back to her ship, after she and Admiral Ackbar (we hardly knew you pal. were blown into space. I cannot believe that one of my last visions of Carrie Fisher on the screen was that ludicrous moment. God! After Leia became incapacitated, Vice-Admiral Holdo took command of the Resistance. Chances are that Poe and some other members of the Resistance would have refrained from staging a mutiny. and sending Finn and Rose Tico on that mission to Canto Bight, if Holdo had informed everyone about hers and Leia's plan to evade the First Order in thie first place. Only she did not. When she finally did, Poe and a few others dismissed it as cowardly and decided to stage a mutiny. This "mutiny" eventually led to Finn and Rose's mission to search for a master code breaker at the Canto Bight Casino. I have one or two problems with this scenario. One, I could not understand why Holdo kept the evacuation plans a secret for so long, since it did not require a "need-to-know" reason. And two, why did Holdo wait so long to set hers and Leia's plans in motion? Not only did I find this delay unnecessary, it allowed other factors in the story - Finn and Rose's Canto Bight mission to affect the actual evacuation. One could dismiss this as an example of Holdo's personality flaws. But the timing of this story arc makes it difficult for me to do this. Leia and Holdo's evacuation plan and gas lighting of Poe were not the only problems I had with their characters. I also had a problem with their costumes. Do not get me wrong, I found the costumes designed by Michael Kaplan rather elegant and lovely. But I could not help but wonder why both women wore outfits suited for dinner reception, a party or even a political meeting (in the STAR WARS universe. Their outfits seemed unsuited for military commanders in the field. especially military commanders who were attempting to guarantee the survival of those under them, in the middle of a life or death situation. Was this Kaplan's attempt to outshine Trisha Biggar's designs from the Prequel Trilogy. Who knows? Who knows? His costumes worked in the Canto Bight casino scenes. But they simply did not work for Leia and Holdo, who were not in elegant situations like the casino during this film. Speaking of the Canto Bight mission. I honestly do not know what to say. It was such a crap fest to me. The only aspect of that mission that I enjoyed were the visual designs for the sequence. Otherwise, this whole story arc was marred by bad writing. Poe's opposition to Holdo's evacuation plan led him to send Finn, Rose and BB-8 to find someone who could break the code to the First Order's tracking device, a master code breaker who hung out at the Canto Bight casino on Cantonica. So what happened? The pair landed their transport on a private beach and ended up getting arrested at the casino for illegal parking. Arrested. for illegal parking? Unable to contact the code breaker, due to being incarcerated behind bars, Finn and Rose met another prisoner named D. J., who claimed to be a code breaker. When he broke them out of jail, they recruited him to help the Resistance break the code. instead of returning to the casino in order to find the Master Code Breaker they had originally spotted. After the trio and BB-8 board Snoke's ship, the Supremacy; Finn and Rose are betrayed by D. J., who also spilled the Resistance's plans to escape from Leia's cruiser via cloaked transport ships. Except. wait. How in the hell did D. J. know about that plan? He could not have learned everything about it from Finn and Rose, who only knew that Holdo and Leia had plans to evacuate. But they knew nothing about the transport ships being cloaked or that Holdo planned to send the Resistance to Crait. Hell, not even Poe knew the specific details, until he woke up aboard one the transports after being stunned by Leia. How did D. learn about Leia and Holdo's complete plan? I found something else rather odd about the Canto Bight mission. Finn and Rose were able to escape from Leia's cruiser undetected and head for Cantonica in a cloaked transport ship. This sounds strangely similar to Leia and Holdo's evacuation plan. I have already pointed out that the entire Resistance personnel could have done this and rendezvous at an arranged location a lot earlier in the story, instead of waiting until the last of the Resistance fleet was close to Crait. If Poe was able to help Finn and Rose slip away from both the Resistance convoy and the First Order fleet, why did he continue to oppose Leia and Holdo's evacuation plan. Why did Poe believe that the evacuation plan was so cowardly (eyeroll) that he set in motion that ridiculous Canto Bight mission? I mean. honestly, Finn and Rose's successful evasion of the First Order's fleet and the Resistance convoy should have made him realize that Holdo's plan - well, most of it - was pretty sound. Another aspect of the Canto Bight story arc that I disliked was Rose's revelations about the casino's use of slave labor and the owners' profiting from the conflict between the Resistance and the First Order, as arms dealers. Apparently, this entire story arc was created by Johnson for Finn to learn a valuable lesson about greed and corruption, enabling him to understand about what the Resistance is fighting against and drop his "selfish" concerns about Rey. WHAT. UTTER. BULLSHIT. There was nothing wrong with Finn being concerned about Rey not walking into the current conflict between the Resistance and the First Order. And there was no need for him to learn any damn lesson. And I sure as hell did not appreciate watching Rose lecture Finn about the evils of corruption, let alone slavery. You know, originally I thought she and had been a former slave herself. Then I checked Wikipedia and discovered that Rose and her sister Paige had been smuggled off their homeworld by their parents, before they could be snatched by the First Order and forced into slavery. So, why did Johnson believe it was necessary for her to lecture Finn about slavery, when the latter had been enslaved by the First Order ever since he was an infant? If anyone was qualified to give that speech, it was Finn. The Canto Bight sequence did not feature the only problematic scene between Finn and Rose for me. Another occurred during the Resistance's defense against an attack by the First Order at an old Rebel Alliance base on Crait, near the film's finale. In one scene, the remaining Reisistance fighters - which included Finn, Poe and Rose - charged at the incoming First Order forces in order to give the others time to make their escape. While the surviving fighters broke off from the charge, Finn decided to make a suicidal charge against the First Order siege cannon that threatened to break into the base. And guess what happened? Rose stopped Finn's charge. And what was her reason? Well. let me quote her: We're going to win this war not by fighting what we hate, but saving what we love. What. in. the. hell. Let me get this straight. According to Johnson, it was fine for Vice-Admiral Holdo to sacrifice herself to prevent the fleeing Resistance from being destroyed before they could reach Crait. But Finn was not allowed to sacrifice himself against the First Order's siege cannon, because. why again? Hatred? What made Rose believe that Finn's actions were all about hatred for the First Order? And when did Johnson convey the idea that Finn's suicidal charge was all about hatred on his part? And why did Johnson keep creating scenes that gave Rose an opportunity to lecture Finn for the slimmest of reasons? Or decide that she knew better than him? Were the Canto Bight casino and Crait scenes indicative of some racism on Johnson's part? Is he just another person who regards people of color, especially those of African descent, as childlike? I wonder. Then we come to Rey's experiences with Luke Skywalker on Ahch-To. Most critics of "THE LAST JEDI" tend to focus most of their complaints about the Canto Bight mission. My strongest complaints against the film are all about Rey's experiences from start to finish. Judging from the first scene between Rey and Luke Skywalker, I got the impression that Johnson had written his own version of Lukes first meeting with Yoda in "STAR WARS: EPISODE V - THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. Actually, this scene was one of many that seemed to remakes of those from the 1980 film and "STAR WARS: EPISODE VI - RETURN OF THE JEDI. I do not know how to describe Rey's first two days on Ahch-To. Unlike many other fans of the franchise, I had no problems with Luke tossing away his/Anakin's old lightsaber that he had lost on Bespin. As far as I am concerned, it should have remained lost. However, I noticed that Luke's initial rejection of Rey as a padawan struck me as a lot crueler than Yoda's initial rejection some thirty or so years before. Actually, I was not that impressed by the dynamic between Rey and Luke. I hate to say this, but Daisy Ridley and Mark Hamill's on-screen chemistry did not seem that interesting to me. There was another problem in this story arc. Rey ended up receiving very little training in the Force. How long did Luke train Rey? What? A few hours, before it was interrupted by Rey's discovery of the whole Luke-Kylo Ren mess? It seemed like it. There was one scene that featured Luke milking a rather. busty alien called Thala-Siren that just. I found this just as embarrassing as Leia's Mary Poppins moment. It did not help that the creature's udders resembled those of women. Oh God. Also. is it just me or Luke did not seem like himself? He seemed rather cynical, in compare to his younger self. And snarky. Luke seemed more like the younger Leia and Han. or Mark Hamill. I understand the circumstances that led Luke to his exile and how it may have emotionally damaged him. But his refusal to leave Ahch-To in order to help Leia. just did not feel right. I just cannot see him initially refusing to help his own sister, whose life was endangered. But that was nothing, until the movie revealed what led to Luke's estrangement from his nephew, Kylo Ren. Rey learned from the latter that Luke had a vision of his nephew/padawan causing a great deal of destruction and briefly considered killing the sleeping Ben. Although he relented, Kylo/Ben woke up and spotted Luke with his lightsaber drawn. An enraged Ben killed Luke's loyal padawans in retaliation and joined the First Order, because he felt betrayed. Let me make this clear. I am aware that Luke is capable of terrible deeds or allowing his anger to get the best of him. These traits were apparent in both "STAR WARS: EPISODE IV - A NEW HOPE" and "RETURN OF THE JEDI" when Luke had engaged in bouts of murderous rage. But to deliberately contemplate murdering his own nephew, because he had visions of a destructive future from the latter or Snoke's influence? Luke Skywalker? I simply do not see it. He is not Obi-Wan Kenobi, who has proven to be not above doing or suggesting something terrible for the greater good. Luke has always struck me as the type who needed to have his emotional buttons pushed in order for him to commit a terrible deed. While most detractors of "THE LAST JEDI" had a problem with Luke's characterization, I had an even bigger problem with Rey's. and the story arc she shared with Kylo Ren. What in the hell was Rian Johnson thinking? He managed to create another story arc that I believe was marred by the time span between "THE FORCE AWAKENS" and "THE LAST JEDI. The whole Rey-Kylo Ren story seemed wrong within the Sequel Trilogy's time frame. As I had earlier pointed out, not long after Rey had began her brief training into the Force under Luke, she discovered that some mental Force bond had developed between her and the man who nearly killed her, Kylo Ren aka Ben Solo. This. Force bond led Rey to discover what Luke had nearly did to Ren. And this, along with her telepathic conversations with Luke's nephew and visions of him being redeemed convinced Rey that it was necessary to travel to Snoke's ship, the Supremacy, and save Kylo Ren and convince him to give up evil; evoking memories of Luke's attempt to save his father, Anakin Skywalker, in "RETURN OF THE JEDI. When I watched as Rey decided to travel into "the bowels of evil" in order to save an overprivileged and murderous man child from himself and Snoke, I could not help but indulge in a massive face palm. Or groan. This was just simply ridiculous to me. Was I really expected to accept that Rey had developed compassion or any other kind positive feelings for Kylo Ren two to three days after what he had tried to do to her in "THE FORCE AWAKENS" Does anyone realize how unrealistic that is from an emotional point-of-view? After all, only two or three days had passed since Rey had witnessed or experienced the following in "THE FORCE AWAKENS. Kylo Ren kidnapped Rey during the First Order's attack on Takodana. *As he had done earlier to Poe Dameron, Kylo Ren tried to violate Rey's mind in order to learn Luke's whereabouts, using telepathy. Only she managed to defend herself using the same method. *Rey, Finn and Chewbacca witnessed Kylo Ren's murder of his father, Han Solo. *Kylo Ren tried to injure or kill Rey by tossing her into a tree, near the Star Killer base. *Kylo Ren maimed Finn during a light saber duel. *Rey engaged in her own light saber duel against Kylo Ren, in which she managed to wound him. During Rey and Kylo Ren's telepathic interactions in "THE LAST JEDI" she managed to develop compassion for him. And I am at a loss at why she would do this over a person, who had caused so much harm to her and those she cared about. in such a short period of time. When Rey asked Kylo Ren why he murdered his father, the latter explained - in a scene in which he was shirtless (a massive eyeroll) that trying to cut out any sense of emotional attachment. WHAT IN THE HELL. That was his excuse? And she bought it? And when Rey questioned Kylo Ren's murder of Luke's loyal padawans, he revealed how Luke had contemplated on killing him. Never mind that I believed this did not jibe with Luke's personality. This was a lame excuse on Kylo Ren's part. Those padawans had not played a role in Luke's brief contemplation to commit murder. Those padawans had done nothing to Kylo Ren or anyone he may have cared about. Rey failed to continue questioning Kylo Ren's murders. She expressed anger at Luke's behavior, which I do not blame her. But she also decided to use this and Luke's reluctance to save his nephew as an excuse to surrender to Snoke in an effort to save Kylo Ren, someone who had wronged her and those whom she cared about... VERY RECENTLY. As far as Rey knew, Kylo Ren was not related to her and a long period of time had not passed between "THE FORCE AWAKENS" and "THE LAST JEDI. Another problem seemed to manifest this story arc - namely Rey's visions of Kylo Ren's future. I am not claiming that he was redeemable. But did Rey ever consider that her visions had been manipulated in the first place? Did she ever consider that her telepathic bond was manipulated, which the movie later confirmed during Snoke's monologuing? I realize that Rey was somewhat naive. But considering her recent past experience with Kylo Ren attempting to violate her mind, she never considered that this might be another attempt? Or that he had successfully found a way to violate her mind and try to manipulate her? Apparently not. Instead, Rey simply jumped up and rushed to Snoke's ship in an effort to "save" Kylo Ren. It seemed obvious that Johnson had set up this whole scenario in order to plagiarize the Palpatine throne scene from "RETURN OF THE JEDI. Unfortunately for me, it failed on so many levels. Worse, it made Rey looked like "the Idiot of the Galaxy. This entire story arc struck me as incredibly stupid. One could say that Rey's stupidity in the above scenario finally erased the Mary Sue label from her character. Perhaps. There was also the fact that in compare to Snoke, her mastery of the Force was a joke. He handled her like a toy doll in the Supremacy throne room sequence. And yet, she was able to master the Force with easy in other scenes. The movie's novelization, written by Jason Fry, explained that the telepathic connection that Rey had unexpectedly formed with Kylo Ren enabled her to learn his skills with the Force. In other words, Rey is the "STAR WARS" version of Chuck Bartowski from the NBC series, CHUCK. For me, this was one of the most idiotic and lazy piece of writing that I have ever encountered in a movie or novel. To make matters works, the movie's ending revealed that Rey had stolen Luke's ancient Jedi texts. This seemed to be a hint that she will continue her Jedi studies using those texts. Jesus Christ! This scenario had failed when an Extended Universe (EU) novel used it to explain Luke's development of his Force skills in "RETURN OF THE JEDI" after failing to return to Yoda on Dagobah for more training. This scenario strikes me as even more ludicrous, considering that Rey's actual training lasted a hell of a lot shorter than Luke's. Rey also continued to display her Force skills in a lightsaber fight scene that featured her and Kylo Ren against Snoke's guards. However, since the latter were not Force users, I would equate this scene with Obi-Wan Kenobi's duel against General Grievous in "STAR WARS: EPISODE III - REVENGE OF THE SITH. Utterly irrelevant. And to be honest, both Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver seemed like more proficient duelists in a You Tube video clip that featured them practicing the fight than they did in the movie. Whoever handled the lightsaber choreography for this film need more lessons on how to stage a fight between swordsmen. Before Rey had made her escape from Snoke's starship, Kylo Ren revealed to her that her parents were two-bit junk dealers on Jakku, who had sold her into slavery for drinking money. He did this in an effort to emotionally isolate her and manipulate her into serving his desires. Now, if what he said about Rey's parents are true, who had abandoned Rey on Jakku and left the planet? If the people who had abandoned Rey on Jakku were her parents, then they had sold her for more than drinking money. Also, how and when did Rey ceased to be a slave? I read somewhere that Rian Johnson made Rey unrelated to the Skywalker family because he wanted to move the saga away from them. When I heard this. Jesus Christ! Do Disney and Lucasfilm even know what what the hell they are doing? If the main protagonists for the Sequel Trilogy are not supposed to be members of the Skywalker family, then why. regard. this. particular. trilogy as part of the Skywalker Family Saga in the first damn place? Why not simply regard this trilogy as something other than a part of the Skywalker family saga and utilize characters from the previous two trilogies as minor supporting characters - like 2016's "ROGUE ONE" There were other characterizations that proved problematic to me. Many of the saga's fans had complained about Snoke's death and the fact that his background was never revealed or explored. I had no problem with this for two reasons. One, Palpatine's background was never revealed until the Prequel Trilogy. Unless Lucasfilm plans to release films that featured Snoke's backstory or the rise of the First Order, I must admit that as a character, he was a waste of time. And two, I am not a fan of Snoke. Despite Any Serkis' excellent voice performance, Snoke struck me a ham-fisted and one-dimensional version of Palpatine. I could blame J. Abrams, who created the character in the first place. But the real blame lies on Rian Johnson's shoulders, who had transformed the character from a somewhat mysterious villain to a one-dimensional remake of one of the best movie villains I have ever seen on screen. Captain Phasma has to be one of the most wasted characters I have ever encountered in the science-fiction/fantasy genre. This character, who happened to be commander of the First Orders stormtroopers, had less development than some of the one-shot villains in the saga. Hell, even General Grievous, whom I have always harbored a low opinion, was better written than her. Poor Gwendoline Christie. It was bad enough that Abrams wasted her character in “THE FORCE AWAKENS” by failing to show her in action. When she was finally featured in an action sequence in “THE LAST JEDI” - a control baton duel against Finn aboard Snokes ship - she was quickly killed off. And she was dispatched rather fast, due to. you know what? I do not know. I do not know why Johnson had shortened the Finn/Captain Phasma duel to such a ridiculously short length. I have come to the conclusion that Phasma was, in the end, a wasted character. If there was a character even more wasted than Captain Phasma, it was Admiral Ackbar, who had also appeared in both “RETURN OF THE JEDI” and “THE FORCE AWAKENS”. The Mon Calamari military commander was unceremoniously killed by the same blast that nearly killed Leia. before he even had the opportunity to utter a line. God, what a waste! Although Chewbacca was utilized more than Admiral Ackbar, his character had been reduced to a comic relief arc and a species called the Porg on Ach-To and Reys personal chauffeur. Despite having more screen time, poor Chewbacca proved to be wasted just as much as Phasma and Ackbar. A relative of mine had pointed out that what made "THE LAST JEDI" unique was that it featured how the theme of failure in a STAR WARS movie. Others had pointed out that Rian Johnson managed to present a movie with a subversive narrative. I say bullshit to that. "THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK" was the first STAR WARS movie that featured the failures of its protagonists. It was also the first film that subverted the mythos of the saga that Lucas had created. And guess what? The Prequel Trilogy was basically one long saga on how Anakin Skywalker, the Jedi and the Galactic Republic failed themselves. Also, the last third of "RETURN OF THE JEDI" the Prequel Trilogy and "ROGUE ONE" were other movies that subverted the saga's mythos. Rian Johnson had not created anything new. Not really. Also, both George Lucas and Gareth Edwards did all of this with better writing. There were aspects of "STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII - THE LAST JEDI" that impressed me. I thought the film's performances from a cast led by Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega were either competent or first-rate. And I was more than impressed by the movie's production values. But overall, I found "THE LAST JEDI" to be a major disappointment. And a great deal of this disappointment came from Rian Johnson's screenplay - both the film's narrative and characterizations. In fact, I dislike this film a lot more than I did "STAR WARS: EPISODE VII - THE FORCE AWAKENS. I understand that J. Abrams, who had directed the Sequel Trilogy's first film, will direct its third and final movie, EPISODE IX. Even if this movie proved to be enjoyable, I do not think it can save this new trilogy as a whole. After two very disappointing movies, the STAR WARS Sequel Trilogy has proven to be a disaster in my eyes.
